“I’ve worked hard to get where I am today...but where the hell am I?” Imagine climbing up the corporate ladder, only to realize it’s leaning against the wrong wall. Or getting promoted when, deep down, you doubt you have the skills and self-belief to perform effectively on the job. If you recognize feelings like these, then coaching could be for you.

Coaching is private, one-to-one training that prepares you for specialized or important work. Coaching can help you re-evaluate, reflect on and decide how to recharge your life and work. If you are keen to explore your full potential, the coaching could be the way to find out what that potential might be.

As J.M. Barrie put it, “The life of every man is a diary in which he means to write one story, and writes another; and his humblest hour is when he compares the volume as it is with that he vowed to make it”. So what story do you mean to write? Is it time you put your thoughts into words and turned those words into actions you can be proud of?

Berend R. had reached a crossroads in his banking career. Having got off to a flying start in corporate finance, he now felt he was no longer performing to his own and others' expectations.

With the support of his manager, Berend asked Words in Action to help him get his career back on track. In a series of coaching sessions, we talked about Berend's background, his hopes and aspirations for the future and, most importantly, about the blocks on his performance today.

At the end of six coaching sessions, Berend wrote to pass on some good news, 'I have now been offered an extension on my contract, which was due to expire in November. I want to thank you for your support and the one-liners, which I try to remember whenever I feel that I might slip back to the situation as it was when you saw me the first time.'
